Sometimes referred to as the key of life or the key of the Nile, the Ankh is representative of eternal life in Ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians believed that our journey on this earth is only part of eternal life, and so the ankh is a symbol of both mortal existence and the afterlife that awaits us.
